When does the activation start?
From the time you enter the coupon code or download and pay for the app in store. So it is important to only do this when starting your travels
How does the service work?

What happens on expiry of the purchase period i.e. 30 days or 1 year?
If on subscription basis it will automatically renew if not then the service is no longer available.
If a guest does not use an activation code, can it be allocated to another guest?
Yes, it can. We suggest that you first contact us at info@satibguardian.co.za to confirm whether the code has been activated
Can it be used for International Numbers?
Yes, but local connectivity to a network (roaming or local sim card) ensures that the OTP SMS is received in order to link the mobile number to a subscription for a successful activation of the services. We encourage the purchase of a local SIM and users should download the app using this local number.
Which areas do you cover?
SATIB Guardian operates only in the Republic of South Africa. We have coverage in all major metros & sub metros and many outlying areas. We grow our security and medical supply base based on demand. If you would like to find out if there is coverage in your area, please check our security coverage map and medical coverage map. If your area is not covered, please contact us.
What are the coverage and limitations?
How do I pay for SATIB Guardian?
Download the SATIB Guardian App from the App store or Play Store. Purchase once off and bulk purchases on this website. You will be asked to input your card details.
When purchased via the website we will then debit your account once off with R49 for 30days or R350 for 1 year. These charges exclude fees added by the PayFast. All charges are once off and NOT re-occurring.
When purchased via App Store it is on a subscription basis and will automatically renew at the end of the period unless you choose to OPT OUT. These charges exclude fee’s added by the PayFast.
Are there any hidden costs?
Are there group packages?
We do not currently offer discounted group packages. Tourism and hospitality businesses can, however, purchase multiple individual access codes and distribute one code per user.
Do I need a phone when using my panic button?
No, our GPS panic button is a standalone device and can be used independently from your phone.
Which armed response companies respond to my emergency?
We have hundreds of private Armed Response companies on our supply base and the closest one will respond to your emergency. All are vetted and registered by PSIRA
Which Emergency Medical Services do you use?
We only use vetted Intermediate and Advanced Life Support service provides.
Do we get taken to Private or Government Hospitals?
Where clinically appropriate and available, responders may transport you to a suitable private medical facility. If you do not have medical aid, travel insurance, or the means to cover private medical costs, you may be transferred to a government facility once stabilised. Medical treatment, transport, consumables, medication and related costs are not included in the SATIB Guardian access fee.
Do I need a Local SIM card, or can I use my International Number?
You can choose to make use of a local SIM card or your international number. Just be sure you download SATIB Guardian using the one you intend using during your travels and if using an International number activate data roaming?
Why do I get error report stating: “The coupon entered is either invalid or has already been used”?
How does the app use my data during an emergency, and who is it shared with?
To respond to an emergency, the app may process and share relevant personal information, GPS location, emergency contact details, medical information and incident information with AURA, response partners and other relevant service providers. Users should keep their profile information accurate and up to date
Is the app a fail safe?
Is the app a replacement for emergency planning?
Is the app insurance / medical aid / roadside assistance?
SATIB Guardian is not an insurance policy, medical aid product, travel insurance policy, vehicle recovery product or mechanical roadside assistance plan. It gives users access to emergency response coordination through AURA’s platform and its independent response network
